On the western coast of Paphos lies the spacious municipal beach of Faros, also known as Lighthouse Beach.
This beach is famous for its picturesque scenery. Its name translates to "lighthouse beach" due to the lighthouse located on a hill about 250 meters from the shore. From the beach, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding area.
The beach, which stretches for around 400 meters, is considered one of the most accessible and convenient spots for relaxation in Paphos. It is located just four kilometers from the city center, making it easy to reach.
In front of the beach, there is a large free parking area for cars.
It’s a great spot for active leisure, offering opportunities for beach volleyball. There are also various sports and activity areas along the beach, such as fitness zones, playgrounds for children, beach football fields, and training spots.
For those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, the beach is equipped with a path for jogging and leisurely walks. Many local residents who are fitness enthusiasts spend a lot of time here running or taking walks.
Beachgoers can rent umbrellas and sunbeds, and the beach bar, where some tables are set on the veranda and others directly on the sand, offers a diverse menu, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The bar staff also serve those lounging on the sunbeds, ensuring a truly enjoyable experience.
The beach area features free Wi-Fi, changing rooms, fresh water showers, and restrooms, including facilities adapted for people with disabilities.
In close proximity to Faros Beach, there are bars, traditional Cypriot taverns, restaurants, cafes, kiosks, and mini-markets.
In 2024, the beach underwent modernization: a new children's playground was built, the volleyball courts were renovated, the toilets and the restaurant were improved, and a new parking area was constructed.
