John Paul Ampongan, a member and founder of Ampongan Taekwondo Academy, established the academy in 2001. He is also a Taekwondo Blackbelt Brotherhod elite group that is responsible for the promotion and development of Taekwondo in the Philippines. ATA MARTIAL ARTS offers a variety of programs for all ages. We are the only Martial Arts Center that offers age- and skill-specific programs. Our team has won numerous medals and awards since the inception of ATA. In 2012, ATA won a total 90 medals - 17 Golds, 22 Silvers, and 51 Bronze from competitions like CPJ, WNCAA and Muntiparlas Makati Pasay Taguig Taekwondo Championships. Also, National Interschool and All Women's Poomsae Championships. Our team recently won the 2014 WCSA Overall Championship Award as well as the MVP Award. Our team recently competed in the Melbourne Australia TVI Winter Taekwondo Championships, bagging 3 silvers as well as 1 bronze. Our goal is to encourage and support our students in their pursuit of their full potential. The Academy organizes annual outreach and relief missions, such as the one that was held in the wake of Yolanda Crisis. All of our students have grown and improved over the years. Each and every student is a source of pride for us.
