The Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Center for Continuing Education (AGSB – CCE) was established to complement the Ateneo de Manila University’s existing Ateneo BAP Institute of Banking. It is a joint venture of the Ateneo de Manila University and the Bankers Association of the Philippines. It was initially known as the Basic Leadership Program. Later, it was changed to Continuing Profession Education and finally to Center for Continuing Education.
CCE participates in AGSB's resolution of industry issues that require a targeted, immediate and purposeful response. CCE is an industry resource and partner. CCE offers professional training programs that are practical and can be applied immediately in the workplace. These methods are based on business simulation, practice exercises, applications, case analysis, focused discussion, and business simulation. The industry experts who deliver the courses are highly respected. CCE and AGSB are committed to Ateneo's mission of excellence and integrity as well as service.
In 2003, the Commission on Higher Education granted AGSB full autonomy status. It was awarded this status in recognition of its innovative leadership programs and commitment for quality education. CHED rated AGSB the best business school in the country in 2004, out of the 199 schools it evaluated. In August 2010, the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities granted full accreditation to AGSB. To make business education more accessible to the general public, the AGSB has satellite campuses throughout the Philippines. These include Santa Rosa City, Laguna and Clark Field, as well as Cebu City or Iloilo City.
The AGSB believes that business should not be used for profit but for building a nation. It continues the Jesuit tradition of magism, excellence in service to other people.
