This short course in Project Planning and Management is primarily intended to meet the increasing demand for the design and maintenance of development projects / programs in government agencies, development partners' projects supported projects and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). This module explains the context and provides methods for planning and evaluating development projects/programmes.
Planning development programmes and projects is crucial when trying to allocate resources efficiently for development purposes. A core part of this module is about methods of evaluating the economic and financial efficiency of development project. These appraisal methods are based on economic theories, and in particular those of applied welfare economics.
