We are "Sisters," Alison Snyders and Karin Lipari, two of the four sisters who grew up in Retreat, Cape Town.
Our journey with selling flowers began at a young age when we assisted our grandmother, affectionately known as "Mommy Ally," in selling her flowers after school and on weekends. As we completed our schooling, we decided to venture into selling our own flowers, as it was a passion ingrained in us, and we found immense joy in every aspect of the floral business. With the unwavering support of our parents, who assisted us with transportation initially, we gradually gained our independence and eventually acquired our own bakkie.
Over the years and decades, we diligently built a loyal clientele who have continued to support us regularly. Our deep passion for selling flowers led us to self-teach the art of creating exquisite flower arrangements that stand out from the rest.
Our offerings include fresh-cut flowers and beautifully crafted floral bouquets tailored for a wide range of occasions, such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, get-well wishes, sympathy arrangements, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, corporate functions, and more.
As part of our growth, we have expanded our business to include participation in flea markets on weekends, and we are proud to offer a reliable delivery service to our valued customers.

Flora Niche's journey began in Cape Town in 1983, and over the course of 39 years, our extensive experience in floral design has enabled us to establish a national presence.
Annike McClarty's introduction to the floristry industry came at a young age, courtesy of her mother, Bessie van Zyl, who owned a bridal shop for 55 years. Flowers played a central role in Bessie's life as she crafted bridal bouquets, wedding flowers, and floral art for competitions. Annike's deep love for flowers began to take shape during her childhood, as she observed her mother's work, and by the age of 6, she was already creating her own floral arrangements.
Upon completing her schooling, Annike initially pursued a career as a secretary. However, she diligently saved her earnings and, at the age of 23, fulfilled her dream of opening her own florist shop. On the 7th of April 1983, she inaugurated her florist shop in Claremont and christened it "Flora Niche." Remarkably, this original florist shop remains in operation to this day, though it has evolved and transformed over the years.

Flower Café came to life on the 6th of August 2020, emerging five months into South Africa's lockdown period.
Our parent company, Petals Group, has been a pioneering force in the luxury weddings, floral arrangements, and corporate events industry in Cape Town since 1967, with the renowned Flower Walker still leading the way.
In April 2020, the sudden surge in COVID-19 infections prompted the government to temporarily close all 'non-essential' businesses, causing a halt in operations for Petals Group and many other South African enterprises.
In July 2020, our Petals team collaborated with Lisa from Anago Marketing. In just one day, Flower Café transformed from a mere concept into a fully-fledged business! The rest, as they say, is history!
Contact Petals Group for assistance in crafting exceptional corporate events, private functions, product launches, or weddings, no matter where you are in the world.
